The Škoda Transportation group will deliver the most modern ForCity Smart Artic trams to Finland

The subsidiary of Škoda Transportation, Finnish Transtech, will deliver a total of 49 new modern vehicles to the capital of Finland. Helsinki City Transport HKL exercised an option for twenty low-floor trams for Helsinki city traffic, and signed a Letter of Intent for purchasing further 29 trams for the new “Raide-Jokeri“ line connecting the cities of Helsinki and Espoo. The total price for both contracts is over 150 million EUR.

Škoda Electric has succeeded in Brazil

In recent weeks, Škoda Electric scored a major export success in the overseas market. The Plzeň-based company will participate in the production of new monorail vehicles for public transportation in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo. Monorail public transport vehicles, which combine the favourable properties of the tram and metro, ride on special bridge structures situated above the regular city infrastructure.

Škoda Transportation group succeeded in Finland

Transtech Oy, a subsidiary company of Skoda Transportation, was selected as the supplier for the newly built tram track in Tampere. The third largest city in Finland receive in the first phase fifteen to twenty modern tram ForCity Smart Artic. The offer also includes a ten-year full service of the vehicles and an option for up to an additional 46 trams with a possible extension of vehicle maintenance by up to thirty years.

Škoda Transportation has received a new order in Turkey for modern battery-powered trams

Škoda Transportation will deliver a unique battery-powered tram to the Turkish city of Eskişehir – this is a follow-up to the previous delivery of 72 vehicles to the Turkish city of Konya. The Pilsen-based company will produce a total of fourteen low-floor modern ForCity Classic trams for the transport company in Eskişehir. The order is worth more than 26 million Euros.

Škoda Transportation introduced the latest locomotive for Deutsche Bahn Regio

Today, company Škoda Transportation ceremonially introduced the most state-of-the-art locomotive Emil Zátopek, which is intended for the German operator Deutsche Bahn Regio. First locomotives currently undergo a series of demanding tests on the test circuit in Velim. In total, Škoda Plzeň will supply six of these universal locomotives to Germany.

Škoda Transportation celebrates an important export achievemnt in Latvian Riga

The Škoda Transportation Company has concluded a contract to deliver 15 pc. ForCity Alfa 15T RIGA 2 (three-section) tramcars and 5 pc. For City Alfa 15T RIGA 2A (four-section) tramcars for Latvian Riga. The new order amounts to 62,6 mil. EURO without funding. Škoda Transportation has secured an advantageous funding of this project through Latvian banks with a maturity of 15 years after the delivery of the first tramcar. There are twenty three-section and six four-section tramcars operated currently in the Latvian capital, which were delivered by Škoda to RP SIA Rigas satiksme - the Riga Public Transport Company – in the last years.
